Arising in Impersonal Consciousness, You are a Field of Feeling-Sensation, Energy and Presence

At 2:00 on the clock, the second node of the Mandala, there is that aspect of the spiritual life that is the experience of our nature as Radiant Being. This is your Energetic Presence Identity, where you are radiance and vibration. In the Purple position, we are exploring the fields of being and current of feeling that flows through (and ultimately is) you and all that you experience.
As we move into Purple, we are speaking about the Energy of Consciousness rather than Consciousness Itself. There are specific forms of spiritual awakening within this realm, although the Energy of Consciousness is different from Consciousness Itself. The Purple node pertains to the field of radiant energy or vibration that comes into manifestation and is the substance of all that we experience while Consciousness Itself is never an actual object of Awareness.
If we consider this concerning the nature of Consciousness, then the Purple node is its inherent capacity for reflection rather than its invisible light (the Red node), but they are always inseparable. Pure radiance or presence is the first emanation of Consciousness. In the Indian non-dual teachings, the image for this inseparability is of Shiva/Shakti. Shiva is the emptiness or transcendent Consciousness while Shakti is the energy, potency or power that is radiating from Shiva. Depending on what language you use, and which school of thought you’re in, this can be understood in different ways.
In the Purple node, awakening is to our nature as Bliss, Presence or Shakti.
The Sanskrit word “Shakti” means “power.” But it’s not merely impersonal juice, like electricity, because it is full of sentience. Empty Transcendent Consciousness radiates Shakti, which in itself comes forward as the primal energy of everything. It contains everything in potentiality that ends up manifesting as objects, including all sentient beings.
This is not to say that the Primal Energy of the universe is “a person” in the way we usually think of that word, but there is a way in which it is tremendously personal. It contains everything having to do with personhood. It contains all the qualities that we treasure in human beings like love, presence, and intelligence, everything that makes sentient beings valuable. And it is all of those qualities and more in a way that is totally beyond what we could imagine.
Filled With The Qualities Of The Personal
When I drive my car down the road, and I run over a pebble, I don’t think about it.
But if I run over a squirrel, it bothers me.
If I run over a cat or dog, it bothers me even more; and it would be an absolute tragedy if I injured a human being with my car. Naturally, I place more value on a person than I do on a stone or a twig. The more person-hood there is, the higher the value.
It’s possible when we hear that this is primal energy that radiates from Consciousness that we might think of it as less than human, as simply a force of nature. But this Shakti contains everything that is necessary to emanate and manifest everything and anything. It has all the qualities that are most precious. This point is something that’s worth recognizing. This Shakti is often called Mother, because it is the mother of all life.
